GENERAL ADMISSIONS INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Students must complete an online application via the GeorgiaONmyLINE website. For questions about the application process, the VSU Graduate School may be reached by email at gradschool@valdosta.edu or by phone at (229)-333-5694 or (800) 618-1878 Opt. #5. Both the VSU Graduate School and the VSU Department of Early Childhood & Special Education will work with you to develop your application in a timely manner. Admission to the program requires the following: 1) A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (All official undergraduate and graduate transcripts are to be submitted); 2) An application fee. Applicants must also provide their most recent GRE or MAT scores, and a passing score or exemption on Praxis I/GACE I, a minimum grade-point average of 2.5, criminal background check (may be completed by VSU or through the employing school district), professional liability insurance. Program applicants must be employed in a classroom with students with disabilities or be able to spend 20 hours/ week in a classroom for the duration of the program.

SPECIFIC SCHEDULE
|
|
Students may start the program of study any semester. Students have flexibility in selecting the sequence of course completion, but must take the Capstone Course in the final semester of the program. Students must complete a total of 36 semester hours in the program of study.

ADDITIONAL SCHEDULE INFORMATION

|
The coursework for this program is completely online. Supervision and observation of teaching are incorporated into every class through videotape/videoconferencing technologies.
